What’s wild is that Roar is simultaneously horrifying and hilarious. Scenes swing wildly from tense moments of real danger to slapstick farce; there are moments when you’re cringing in fear, then cracking up at how absurd the situation is (e.g. characters hiding in trunks or barrels from lions, only for the animals to wreak havoc around them). Roar lives spectacularly in the realm of cinematic absurdity — it’s less of a polished feature film and more of an uncontrolled experiment in chaos, big cats, and teeth.

Most of the run of this movie is people running around afraid of mostly disinterested large predator animals. No acting, that is literally what was happening, they just happened to be filming it. The story behind this movie is way more interesting than the movie itself, so its worth watching along with the documentary "Roar: The Most Dangerous Movie Ever Made"
