I came to write the review for this movie, and as I continued to set the sliding scales, I found that my random memories of this movie slowly began to assault my frontal cortex. I was so excited when I saw the poster for this movie at AMC Largo. I saw all these faces that I knew and loved, with the bonus of some wacky background shenanigans. I was in and ready to spend my money. I did so, and I purchased my usual movie time friends, popcorn, giant-ass Coke, and Goobers. I ran to the back row, kicked up my feet, and settled in for what I just knew would be over-the-top hilarity. Later that day, I exited the theater a changed person. I learned that just because you throw enough money, cocaine, and creative rights of a movie to start a small country, it doesn't mean it is going to be anything worth a sack of old potatoes.

There's a lot of cool fun stuff in this movie, but it never really achieves the same level as other movies that exist in the same vein, like "Freaked" or a lot of Tim Burton films. John Candy is sort of wasted as a serious cop / mute woman. Dan Ackroyd is great, but it seems like he spent all his Ghostbusters Hollywood clout producing this, and probably wasn't ever given the same level of freedom from studio interference again.
