Not the worst JCVD film, but definitely one of his last notable efforts. Good action and competent work, but Schneider is a poor addition. You'll ask why you didn't just rent Double Team again by the time credits roll.
This movie starts extremely strong with some amazing and creative camera work, like the Cinematographer was kidnapped from a better production, but escaped half way. As the movie goes on, you realize the irony of this film as it seems like someone listened in on someone elses movie pitch and ripped it off, only remembering the broad strokes and rough concept, therefore making it a knock-off in itself.
The last american production in Hong Kong before the takeover and Tsui Hark best american release. This time he tries to produce a generic Hong Kong flick under an american production. The result is a very entertaining chaotic mess. The plot move at breakneck pace with constant nonsensical plot twists. Rob schneider tries to play it more straight but always ends up as the goofy sidekick. Good effort on his fight choreography though. The experimental camerawork is all over the place but its kinda elevate the fun over the top action setpieces which this movies as plenty with some pretty awesome over the top deaths. Overall a very fun and entertaining bad movie.
Knock Off is about a Jackie Chan knock off and a Donkey from Shrek knock off caught up in a counterfeit jeans scheme and Paul Sorvino was there as himself. Some really great action cinematography. Makes for a pretty good action bad movie
