What happens when your license to adapt a famous Master of Mystic Arts expires and you can no longer use the Sorcery Supreme's mightiest weapon (name recognition)? File off anything that infringes on the IP and release your watered-down generic version. The stiry's good enough to grab the audience, right? Right...?
