Review: Avenging Angel

Molly returns to the streets of Hollywood to find REVENGE. . . And reconnect with some old friends. The mild success of Angel prompted the studio to pursue a sequel, but the original actress found a way to price herself out of the role. The producers then found a suitable replacement for this second go, and in the process raided enough couch-cushions to give the film an actual budget for action set pieces, stunts, etc. Unfortunately, some odd script and acting choices turn the middle of the film into a more comedic venture than you might guess a former hooker-turned-vigilante story would run. Kudos for bringing back Angel's Hollywood buddies Solly, Yoyo Charlie, and Kit Carson, which really roots this as a follow-up to Angel and keeps life on the streets in Hollywood at the forefront. But the slapstick and blink-to-miss it ending really limit the whole venture.
